My two sisters were there, as well as my mother and mother-in-law. My three older daughters were also present, when not being entertained by my brother-in-law and their cousin, and they got to see Opal be born, which was a first for them, and me. None of my older daughters had witnessed my other births – partly because they all occurred in the middle of the night – and this time around they all wanted to be there. The daytime labor and birth worked out well for this reason.
