Easter Gift: A Healthy Relationship With Chocolate

For our children, Easter is a chance for them to have some magic in their lives, magic they will remember. We can make healthy choices for them, we can decide on the amount we get them.

Seeing something as forbidden can give it far more energy than it actually deserves. I wish my son to enjoy his life and experience all the beauty in it. My wish is that by not making chocolate a loaded issue, he has a healthy relationship with it. Seeing it as a pleasure he can take or leave.

So this Easter I will purchase Easter eggs, and this year he will eat all of them and I know there will be no spoils for me, that day has gone!

Easter can be the magical experience that children are meant to have. One year at his school, a nursery assistant actually brought in one of her own chickens and made a whole build-up to the event. That her chicken had laid eggs for every child. So in the garden were placed eggs for them. She had asked me to bring one for my son, so he could fully enjoy the experience. Guess what? He loved it.

For our children, Easter is a chance for them to have some magic in their lives, magic they will remember. We can make healthy choices for them, we can decide on the amount we get them. We can also decide not to load chocolate with our own emotions.

Keep it simple, keep it fun and lets see the excitement in our children’s lives. Happy Easter 🙂
