For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?

You get to work your own hours but that also takes discipline. It’s easy to get distracted by things that need doing around the house so you need to prioritise. I have learned to schedule better and not just go with the flow. I get to schedule my day how I want and if something comes up last minute that I really want to do, I have the flexibility to make that happen. I’m a night owl so I love doing research and reading at night when the house is quiet and everyone’s asleep, you can’t do that in a traditional job.

Probably the biggest con is that I sometimes struggle to turn off, there’s no leaving work at work and I’m very determined, so time can get away from me. But that’s also fulfilling and I enjoy it.

Hopes and dreams: What next?

There’s so many! I absolutely love what I do and feel so grateful for this opportunity. I just want to yell it from the rooftops so that I can help many other women do the same and to continue helping improve other family’s health with our incredible range of products and programs. On a personal level, I want to be able to take some pressure off my husband’s workload – he leaves home at 4.30am and often misses seeing the kids before they go to bed.
