Spoken Word Poem by Hollie McNish Nails Challenges of Early Motherhood

By Hannah Schenker

Spoken word poet Hollie McNish is known for telling it like it is – but making it all sound so beautiful and raw and real as well. She shared this excerpt from her book with Channel 4 News on 30 March, in which she explores the idea of identity change and loss when you become a mother – “What’s My Name Again?”

From Hollie, or Hols, or Hollie McNish
I’m now known as so-and-so’s mum
