Start a Business. Bring Your Baby. Be Inspired.

The Drive: What challenges have you overcome?
I went through a very short phase of the ‘Can I Do This?’ I questioned why women would want to come to me, and why they would want to learn from me. Three moments got me through this (fairly common) phase of entrepreneurship. Firstly, encouragement from mothers to whom I’d already offered advice, and friends and family around me. Secondly, I read a superb article about what it means to be an expert and realised that, in classic Sheryl Sandberg style, I’d sold myself short. And lastly, I reminded myself WHY I was doing this, after which the ‘Can I Do This?’ turned in to the ‘I Have To Do This!’

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
This could go backwards and forwards for hours! I’d say the main reason why running your own enterprise is particularly fabulous, is because you are in control of your position, i.e, when you work and how you work. I don’t really believe there are any true cons to becoming an entrepreneur, except that it looks like it’s difficult and inaccessible on the outside.

Hopes and dreams: What next?
I just hope that I can inspire as many women as possible, and unite them in a less stereotypical way. I hope that women realise their true potential through the programme.

People often say ‘Life’s not perfect.’ Isn’t it?
