Issue 37

We’ve looked forward to these summer days for months. After wishing and planning, hoping and waiting, and FINALLY summer is here! Long hot days of outside fun, road trips, and ice cream dripping down sticky fingers are ahead! But sometimes even summer days can lose their sparkle. Children can feel listless, and this can lead to acting out. Laura Markham says the best way to deal with this is to “refill your child’s love tank”. This can take a lot of time and energy but it works, and “When you connect with your child in the way she needs, most of the time her behaviour improves dramatically.” For those of you who are preparing for that last trimester, Annaliese Jones has some fantastic tips in her Guide to a Healthy Third Trimester. If on the other hand you’re at the very start of your pregnancy journey, Lauren Godfrey explores the physiology at play during the pre-conception period and the benefits meditation practice can bring. Lauren says: Whatever you can do to support yourself before you conceive will pay dividends throughout your journey and beyond. Summer days with the kids are fun but selfcare is important too – the centre of your family universe includes you. We hope you take some time to read our gorgeous little zine and enjoy the beautiful artwork and photography which has been put together with love. So from the Natural Parent family to yours, we wish you all a very happy, and healthy summer, Christmas and New Year! Hannah and the TNP team xxx
