Issue 43

Winter has arrived in the southern hemisphere. The drop in temperature encourages us to spend less time outdoors and more time resting and recuperating. To help you navigate these cosy winter months, we have some experts on hand to share tips, ideas, advice and real-life experiences. Annaliese Jones has put together a Winter Health Checklist which includes some immune-boosting food recipes and tips on increasing vitamin D levels through winter. For mums-to-be, Pinky Mckay has some great ideas on things to try before you give birth that will make breastfeeding easier once your baby arrives. She explains that “by preparing for breastfeeding, you give yourself a much better chance of beating the ‘booby traps’ and getting through the early days more easily.” Bonnie Bayley talks to three inspirational mothers who share their different experiences of becoming solo parents. One mother talks about the “rollercoaster ride” of discovering she had a very low egg count at the age of 34, and the need to act fast if she were to have “any hope of having a biological child.” If you are looking for winter craft ideas, Eleanor Ford has put together some gorgeous weaving activities to try with your children. Wrap up warm, enjoy the extra snuggles and we hope you stay happy and healthy this winter season. Love from the TNP Team xxx
