An endometriosis sufferer herself, Niquita Gaudry set out to find a natural alternative to help manage her symptoms. She discovered CBD oil and was detemined to share its success with others. At EndoSolve, they work with you to provide support and to help ease some of the debilitating symptoms of endometriosis, delivering CBD products and supplements to your doorstep, along with access to online courses and supportive communities. They also offer a simple subscription service that will help you out during your painful flare days. Their CBD is fully compliant and made in an FDA-approved facility. Here, Niquita talks about her own endo journey and her passion to help others live a better quality of life.
The passion: What inspired you to set up your business?
I was inspired to start EndoSolve after living with endometriosis for over 20 years now, and becoming a mother just 11 years ago. I found it very difficult to find a natural alternative to help manage my own chronic illness. I decided to start researching and tried to find my own ways that I could naturally treat and manage my endometriosis symptoms, as the only things that were on offer from doctors and specialists were hormones or strong opioids (and I wanted neither).
The launch: How did you start out in the beginning?
I originally started out by trying to reach the community via Facebook, though I was met with ridicule and many abusive and hurtful words, because I did not have a doctorate or a penis between my legs. Women on this social media platform did not want to listen to what I had to say. In fact, they were so determined to get rid of me, I was trolled and even told to go and kill myself by one person. I finally found Instagram last year around July, when my third child had just turned 3 months old, and this time I was met with open arms and ears.
The innovation: What was the biggest breakthrough for you with your business?
The biggest breakthrough would have to be when I personally made and started using my own CBD Oil back in 2017, when I learnt that my uncle (who had been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer) was having exceptional results with using CBD Oil: it was decreasing his nausea caused by chemotherapy and helping him with his pain. I just had that feeling within myself that my uncle had brought to my attention something that may possibly be able to help me with my pain/nausea from endometriosis, and I had to make it available to others who were suffering the same condition as me.
Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?
I have been a baby wearing, co-sleeping, extended breastfeeder since the birth of my daughter 11 years ago and being a single parent for most of my children’s life, it made juggling work/family life a balancing act. I work and study when my littlest naps or sometimes late into the morning. If I feel tired, I nap when they do, and I have no guilt whatsoever in doing so.
