A Tribute To All Mothers

I see you there 
I see your tired eyes 
and spaced out stare 
I see you dig deep 
to find the energy to care

I see you
muddling through
questioning choices 
and everything you do 

I see that you are amazing 
I see the strength 
you hold
I see you sighing deeply 
when the bedtime story’s told 

I see you feeling lonely 
and needing to be held 
I see that you are busy  
being mum to someone else 
And I see that you also need 
some mothering yourself  

So I want to say  
that you are an  
incredible mum 
That’s what your kids 
would say
