As a Primary school teacher in Greece, Eirini Anagnostopoulou prioritised creating strong relationships with her students – and their parents would come to her for advice on how to work through challenges with them. After becoming a mother, she realised the great responsibility that comes with raising a young child, and how powerless we can feel as parents, not knowing what to do, having no support, and finding ourselves repeating all the patterns we were raised with. Becoming a Parent Coach after moving to the UK, she saw parenting as an incredible opportunity for personal and collective growth, believing in the great power of knowledge and compassion. At Learn Love Grow Shine, she is now on a mission to guide and empower parents on a transformative journey of discovery, understanding and connection.
The Passion: What inspired you to set up your business?
I was inspired by my love for children and my desire to help make this world a better place.
As a primary school teacher in Greece for many years, I developed a deep understanding and compassion for children. One of the best compliments I ever received was from a student who said, “Miss, you haven’t forgotten what it’s like to be a child”.
Additionally, my name means “Peace” in Greek.
I believe that parents are the world’s best chance for meaningful change. Βy supporting them in building close, trusting relationships with their children, I hope to live up to my name and contribute towards a better world-and why not, even peace on Earth.
The Launch: How did you start out in the beginning?
As I mentioned, I have a strong background in education. When I became pregnant with my son, I began exploring child development and parenting in depth. I was amazed by the wealth of scientific insights available on parenting-knowledge I wish I had as a teacher.
After we moved from Greece to the UK, I decided to change careers and it seemed to me as if I had no other choice than to continue serving children, though in a different capacity. I became a Certified Parent Coach through the wonderful Jai Institute for Parenting, where I learned the importance of parents addressing their triggers, beliefs, and limitations to become the compassionate leaders their children need.
Since then, my mission has been to empower parents with the resources they need to create thriving family lives.
The Innovation: What was your biggest breakthrough in business?
Through my training and experience, I gained a deep understanding of the mind-body connection, which I now consider vital to my work. My coaching programme is holistic, focusing not only on knowledge and beliefs but also on noticing how our bodies respond in various situations and connecting deeply with our emotions-an approach that truly empowers parents.
Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?
Honestly, I still find this a challenge.
Working from home makes it difficult not to get involved in household chores during work hours. Lately I am working hard on extending the focus I have during sessions to the rest of my working day, and the next step will be finding a way to disconnect from work during personal and family time.
