Qualified Midwife Emma Wheeler has spent the past 10 years working across all areas of midwifery, but her passion lies with infant feeding, birth rights and the ability to care for women and their families in the comfort of their own homes. At Motters Independent Midwifery, she provides bespoke, evidence based 1-2-1 care in line with the NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) code of conduct. Supporting you at home allows for a calm and private environment to explore your pregnancy and prepare for your birth and postnatal period. Emma is all about women’s choice and she is dedicated to supporting whatever individual decisions you and your family make.
The passion: What inspired you to set up your business?
I wanted to be able to provide women and their families the maternity care they deserve, but sadly, so often don’t get in the NHS.
The launch: How did you start out in the beginning?
I started looking into setting up my business at the beginning of 2023. By summer 2023, I was up and running.
The innovation: What was the biggest breakthrough for you with your business?
My biggest breakthrough was getting all set up online with my website and social media accounts.
Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?
Work and family life balance has improved massively for me since setting up my own business.
