The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
One of the biggest challenges has been juggling many roles and responsibilities, being a mum, a wife, a pharmacist, a business owner, starting a new brand and thinking of ways we can keep engaging and reaching out to people and health care professionals, all while looking after my pharmacy team and getting our community through Covid, with case numbers said to be peaking in a few weeks…so yes, the biggest challenge is just about to start for us.
For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
I treat my business like my life, so working hard, making it work the way I would like it to work, and looking after my team is very fulfilling, as we serve the community and play a role in keeping them safe and healthy. I find a lot of meaning in life when we can appreciate the role that work plays, and not view it as a chore or burden but rather a way to connect with individuals, and to make real, positive difference in the world. We work together as a team and also as an extended family, but in a professional way, so life has more meaning. As the saying goes, “If you want to go fast, go alone, but if you want to go far, go together”.
