Inspired by the arrival of her daughter Noah, Taylor Spence began sketching designs for what she would want in a baby gift box – parcels that would offer comfort, care and a genuine sense of connection – not just for babies, but for the parents receiving them. What began during the quiet moments of maternity leave has grown into a heartfelt gifting brand rooted in love, thoughtfulness and the celebration of life’s most precious beginnings. At Precious Parcels, their curated gift boxes include a beautiful selection of baby gifts such as organic clothes, soft 100% cotton blankets, cosy booties, beanies and a cuddly bunny soft toy – everything your little one needs for warmth and comfort. Each piece is thoughtfully chosen to be gentle on delicate skin and perfect for gifting. Here Taylor speaks to The Natural Parent Magazine about the inspiration behind her business, how she balances work and motherhood, and her hopes and dreams for the future.
The passion: What inspired you to set up your business?
Precious Parcels was born from my journey into motherhood. When my daughter Noah arrived, I found myself searching for baby gifts that felt truly thoughtful – something that brought comfort to both baby and parent, with a sense of care and meaning behind every piece. I wanted to create something that celebrated life’s most precious beginnings in a way that felt genuine, gentle and special – and so the idea for Precious Parcels took shape.

The launch: How did you start out in the beginning?
It all started during my maternity leave, in those quiet moments between feeds and naptimes. I began by sketching out ideas for what I’d want in a baby gift box – items that were not only soft and practical but carried that extra touch of love. I researched suppliers, developed a brand that reflected warmth and care, and launched the website with a small but thoughtful collection of curated boxes. Every step was a learning curve, but also incredibly fulfilling.
The innovation: What was the biggest breakthrough for you with your business?
The biggest breakthrough came when I realised how many people weren’t just looking for gifts – they were looking for ways to show they care. That insight helped shape Precious Parcels into more than just a gifting brand. It became about connection – between givers and receivers, parents and babies, and even with ourselves as we navigate new beginnings. From there, I focused on thoughtful storytelling and packaging that reflected that intention.

Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?
It’s definitely a juggle – and some days are smoother than others! I try to keep a flexible rhythm, working around my daughter’s routine and being kind to myself when things don’t go to plan. Having a business inspired by her makes it feel like we’re in it together, which helps me stay connected to my purpose even when the balance feels tricky.
