Inspired by her own journey into motherhood, Keeley Furlong turned her deep love for nurturing, connection and early development into Wellness of the Wildflowers – a heart-led business dedicated to supporting parents and babies through baby massage, yoga, relaxation and community. What began as a spark during maternity leave has blossomed into a thriving space where families are encouraged to slow down, bond deeply, and embrace the beauty of early parenthood. Rooted in connection, compassion and calmness, Wellness of the Wildflowers is helping parents discover the transformative power of touch, presence and love. Here, Keeley talks to The Natural Parent Magazine about the passion behind what she does, how she balances work and family, the pros and cons of running her own business, and her hopes and dreams for the future.
The passion: What inspired you to set up your business?
Simple – my babies! After having my son William six years ago, I fell in love with those beautiful baby classes, learning new ways to encourage and support his development, watching him learn and thrive while feeling the joy of that shared experience. When my maternity leave ended, returning to the corporate world was a hard adjustment.
Three years later, my daughter Wren arrived, and again I was so grateful for the precious time we had to bond and connect. I learned how biologically intertwined we are with our babies, and how these first moments matter. With Wren planned to be my last baby, I was soaking in all the little moments I could. I attended baby massage classes with her, and once again, we loved them. But the thought of returning to corporate life filled me with dread, and this time I decided to do something about it… other than cry.
One day, I was speaking to another mum friend from our baby massage class. She suggested I could train to be an instructor myself. There, something sparked within me. That night, I began researching and before I knew it, I had enrolled in a full whammy diploma – baby massage, baby yoga, heuristic play practitioner, settle and soothe consultant, pregnancy relaxation and baby confidence teacher.
From the start of my studies, I felt as though a whole new world opened. One of connection, remembrance and empowerment. It expanded my understanding on all the lovely benefits baby massage will have had on my own children. Although, I admit, I did not know the science behind baby massage at the time that I was going to the classes with William and Wren. This fuelled me even more to want other parents to know that they are all their baby truly needs – their love, nourishment and attentive presence.
I would (and still could) talk for hours to anyone on topics from the biology of conception, to nourishing a mother in pregnancy, the importance of a mother feeling nurtured and a calm transition from womb to world in the fourth trimester – a period that has a lifelong impact on a child’s wellbeing.
And so, with the passion running through me full force, Wellness of the Wildflowers was born. One baby step at a time, my qualifications grew, my confidence bloomed and my village began to form.

The launch: How did you start out in the beginning?
I started out by doing what I do best: talking to people. I initiated conversations everywhere, I told friends, neighbours, shopkeepers and mums on the school run all about my free taster sessions. I invited parents and babies to experience the beauty of baby massage, then yoga, then one-to-one pregnancy relaxation sessions. I offered freebies, gathered feedback and built trust – one family at a time. I created a space that wasn’t just about learning techniques, but about feeling held, seen and connected.
The innovation: What was the biggest breakthrough for you with your business?
My biggest breakthroughs aren’t just milestones on paper. For me, breakthroughs happen in the small, everyday moments. They happen every single time I hold space. Every time I see a parent gazing into their baby’s eyes, every time new friendships are formed between like-minded parents who realise they’re not alone. I see it when a mother beams with joy when she’s learnt a new technique, one that works and is simple and innate. A technique that has a profound impact on their baby’s nervous system, development and sense of safety.
I feel it in the moments where a parent exhales, lets go, and just… is. When someone shares a release, a cry, a story and knows they are held without judgement. When a circle of mothers passes on the baby wipes and the love around the room. When we share a cuppa, a laugh and raw honesty conversations.
It’s breakthrough after breakthrough when parents invite more people to the space, growing the village. And it’s why I now offer not just pregnancy relaxation, but mama relaxation sessions too. When we nurture the parent, we nurture the village, and when we nurture the village, we can change the world.
Ultimately, my biggest innovation is recognising that the magic of Wellness of the Wildflowers is in these micro-moments. They are what truly transforms the experience of early parenthood.

Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?
With two young children, school runs, nursery drop-offs, self-care, nourishment and the gentle chaos of everyday life, I’ve learned that balance doesn’t just happen – it’s something I consciously and lovingly create.
Wellness of the Wildflowers began with a promise to myself that my family would always come first. Mother Teresa said, “If you want to change the world, go home and love your family” and those words have stuck with me, so that’s what I do. I am home more than I hold space for others. We keep our days as grounded and natural as possible, with Sundays being my “non-negotiable no workday”. Sundays are our family day with slow mornings, outdoor exploring, laughter, food and togetherness.
From autumn, I’ll be only holding classes during term time so I can be fully present in the school holidays with my children. I limit evening one-to-one sessions so I can be home most nights to read them a bedtime story and tickle their heads until they drift to sleep.
Big events and monthly workshops are something we share as a family. My children love helping me set up a baby class, test new heuristic play sets, unroll yoga mats or name the new demo doll I’ve purchased.
Wellness of the Wildflowers isn’t just my work; it’s my way of living. It’s woven into our everyday moments, into the way we play, communicate and grow together.
