On a mission to encourage families to make ethical and sustainable choices in and around their homes, Kristy Wilson, founder of Green Sense Natural Cleaners, has created a beautiful range of effective, botanical-based natural cleaners. As a family business, they put their collective conscious efforts into all aspects of their product process, which includes using reusable and recyclable bottles and containers, synthetic-free biodegradable paper labelling and plastic-free compostable packaging.
The passion: What inspired you to set up your business?
Green Sense was created from what initially began as a self-sufficient goal to repurpose homegrown ingredients into relevant products for use in and around our home.
This soon became what drove the passion to explore and share the simplicity of natural cleaners, based on the potency of the natural ingredients we have that abundantly surround us in Aotearoa, such as Manuka a well-known and sustainable New Zealand native plant.
The launch: How did you start out in the beginning?
What began in the kitchen with the aid of an old juicer, an abundance of excess grapefruit, apple cider vinegar to repurpose, key active ingredients, and the addition of common household pantry items, led to experimenting taking place and the creation of purposeful relevant cleaning products for in and around our home.
The innovation: What was the biggest breakthrough for you with your business?
The biggest breakthrough for us was our light bulb moment to share and explore what we had begun, after a year of refining, trials in and around our home, and the extraordinary results in its all-natural ability to clean effectively.
