My son changed my life, he changed how I viewed my world/this world and that love called me to take action steps away from the well-walked and traditional path that so many around me trod.
I chose to walk alone and I am truly thankful that I did, and today I share part of my journey with you all. For today, right now, someone is taking the very same steps that I did and for the very same reasons. So for you, I speak. When you are following the guidance of your heart and you are listening to the heartbeat of your infant, have faith. What seems insurmountable and impossible will be shown to be anything but.
As you step away from the path most trodden, you will go on a track that has nature all around it and magic weaved into its very soul.
To open the gift of true connection with unconditional love, that which our children carry and offer to us, you are going to make changes.
Change we are almost programmed to avoid, from all the advice about jumping back into your old life and the multitude of opinions on how to raise your child. They are but dust in the wind when you open up to the pure heart-to-heart communication.
There have been so many twists and turns in my path, so many ups and downs, yet throughout it all I have had the truest and purest compass – the love pouring out of a divine being, my son, to me.
Plans disappeared and books were given away, and ultimately a relationship ended, yet this is the cycle of life.
Beginnings and endings and I, for one, am truly thankful for both.
For the child who inspired me and the mother who raised me, for the many friends that have stepped into my life and for those I have said goodbye to, thank you. Every single person has taught me, every single one.
When we prepare to say goodbye to 2019, let this be the year where we can give thanks for all, to the beginnings and the endings.
