The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
I love what I do, but many people don’t understand homeopathy and how it works, so that can be tough at times – this on top of putting yourself out there, which is not traditionally something that we as Kiwis are comfortable with, has definitely been a big challenge for me. I am understanding more and more though, that when we break things down into bite-sized chunks, it’s not as overwhelming, and that when you come from a place of integrity and wanting to help people, this is the most important thing.
For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
The pros are definitely seeing people move from a place of overwhelm and stress and poor health to a place of freedom, empowerment and good health. Nothing beats this – to know that you’ve helped someone on their journey – whether as a parent or a person – it is such rewarding work.
The cons are that it can be isolating and lonely being self-employed. As with every business, there are highs and lows and you have to get up every day and back yourself…believe in yourself…look at yourself with honesty and compassion…and stay focused.
Hopes and dreams: What next?
There are so many! Lots of ideas going around in the ‘idea incubator’. I want to find ways to empower people more around their health and help them understand that there are other ways of approaching health and wellness than the current models we have. I would like to provide forums for more sharing of ideas and knowledge so that age-old wisdom from the past can be retained and combined with leading edge knowledge around health and wellbeing.
