The Drive: What challenges have you overcome:
Overcoming challenges in my business has been a combination of resilience, adaptability, customer focus and strategic decision making. Each challenge has been an opportunity for me to learn and grow, ultimately making my business more resilient and successful in the long run.
One of the most important aspects of running my business is seeking support when needed. This may be seeking advice from mentors or consulting with professionals, or it may be getting an emotional boost from my partner and allowing him to offer a fresh perspective and solutions.
Staying true to my vision is also important. Throughout the challenges that have been experienced, I have remained committed to the core values and vision of my business. This consistency has helped me stay grounded and make decisions that align with my long-term goals.
For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
The biggest advantage of running my own business is the ability to express my creativity and artistic vision. I have the freedom to design and create unique pieces that reflect my vision and style for my business. I love the flexibility that comes with this venture and this allows me to pursue what I love and share it with others. I have a genuine passion for crystals, and creating beautiful macramé pieces is deeply fulfilling.
Of course, it is not always easy. It is quite a large balancing act to find the right work/life balance and it is not always a perfect balance. It can also be quite isolating working from home in a solo venture because there is not the social interaction in the day-to-day running of the business that comes from a traditional workplace.
Hopes and dreams: What next?
I have a few ideas brewing behind the scenes which I am quite excited about. I have been primarily focusing on wearable crystal macramé up until now and would like to expand my range to include items that can be displayed throughout homes.
