Inner Parenting through Anxiety, Fear of Abandonment, Perfectionism & Self-Doubt

I am safe. I am loved. I am true. And when I don’t feel safe, loved or true, I can call on my nurturing inner parent to direct me home again.

I have been re-learning, releasing and reparenting myself for a decade and the path to reintegrating my heart, brain and nervous system feels more familiar. Even when it’s dark, I know my way home.

I AM THE PROTECTOR, NURTURER AND CONNECTOR of the child I once was and the children before me. I always have been. Except now I am capable of nurturing and strengthening myself and my children through conscious intention.

It is not through coercion but through congruence that I feel my inner child and the children in my care, let go of the alpha position, and reconnect to my nurturing inner parent as they connect to themselves.

Although for most of my life I felt broken, I recognise that we are always whole.

I feel a purposeful resting and a progressive rising within. A reintegration of all the parts of me.

Although for most of my life I felt broken, I recognise that we are always whole. It is through reclaiming and reparenting the younger parts of myself that I restore a sense of safety and truth within.

It can help to support the body by softening our face, lifting the head, standing up straight, breathing life – power deeply into our belly, and exhaling with relief the residue of unheard feelings, unmet needs, unhelpful beliefs and unwanted behaviour. Anything that no longer serves you – release it and replace it with what does serve you.

You choose how you want to respond now. And when we forget, when self-doubt, anxiety or fear take over, we can thank them again for trying to keep our younger self safe, repeat the process with purpose and adopt practices that grow us into the adults we aspire to be.
