More Fun, Less Fuss: Sun Safe, Sensory Friendly Swimwear

The drive: What challenges have you overcome?

Oh, where do I start? There have been hurdles aplenty. We have had manufacturing issues and products arriving either poorly made or missing: negotiating when these errors occur is incredibly hard. It has helped building trust and real relationships with our supply chain partners, but this is something that constantly needs to be nurtured. We are in a great space now and respect and communication is definitely key in overcoming this. I respect them greatly and this is mutual.

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?

The pros are there are no start and end times…the cons are there are no start and end times. Len was born to create flexibility for our growing family and it has absolutely done that, but it also takes time away, and it’s not always an option to tap out when you want to. I was probably naive in thinking it wouldn’t be as time consuming as it is. There have been a lot of late nights!

Hopes and dreams: What next?

Slow and steady. We have built the most incredible community and we want to nurture that as we expand. We have an incredibly loyal customer base and will continue to listen to their needs – we cannot wait to see where that takes us. We are in talks with some amazing Australian foundations at the moment to see how our swimwear can be utilised to help kids who would really benefit from its sensory friendly features too.
