Parenting with two hands (aka “Solo Parenting”)

10. Preparation (in capitals). It’s boring for sure, however it returns so much time for activities (and unexpected child-related detours, such as finding a pair of shoes that they will actually wear).

11. Add win/win experiences to the week where you both can do what you want at the same time, i.e. bike rides, fluffies at the cafe, swimming, (our Do-Little bike seat was a game changer.)

12. Cook double meals, freeze one and then have one that night.

13. Exchange free babysitting with trusted parent friend. In some cases, more kids are easier than an only child, plus kids thrive with a healthy village of people.

14. Kids audio books on Spotify provide entertainment while you’re cooking dinner without the technology aftermath that can happen with TV.

15. Nights at home with friends once the kids are down, saves the babysitting logistics. Go on, invite them over.. coax them with snacks, a good cuppa and your great personality.

16. Find a way to do the home jobs together so that you get downtime when they are sleeping.

Hooray! You made it to the end. Sixteen points goes fast, as do sixteen years! What a joy to be parenting in a world next to you. Bring on today, bring on tomorrow – just one step at a time.
