Potion or poison?

Our most vulnerable (such as infants, pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, and those with health conditions) are at the most risk of unsafe formulations. Comprised of natural ingredients does not mean that products are automatically deemed safe or formulated correctly. As we know, the natural world has many plants that are toxic to humans. Moderation is also vital, as essential oils are high concentrations of plant material; when misused, a potion can quickly turn into a poison.

As a certified aromatherapist and botanical body care product formulator, Sara prides herself in bringing safe, natural products to families to help them get through the often intense time of raising children.

The business is now seven years in and now proudly made in Christchurch, New Zealand, with the help of Sara’s trusty sidekick at work (and life – aka husband!), managing the daily operations at the kitchen and warehouse based in Christchurch, whilst they both juggle their two active boys.

The range is now proudly endorsed by midwives, lactation consultants, antenatal educators, and many families nationwide. The Nude Alchemist gives back to the local community through donations, including to Barnardos – NZ’s leading child charity and the Red Cross.

Want to delve deeper and learn more about essential oils? Aromahead Institute, School of Essential Oil Studies, is an excellent place to start, offering over 40 online courses. Knowledge is power.

Visit The Nude Alchemist website to find out more about what they do, and follow them on Facebook and Instagram.
