Supporting Parents to Foster Deep, Connected Relationships with their Children

The drive: What challenges have you overcome?

I think the last two and a half years have been hard for everyone. The constant changes in rules and restrictions, managing family and life with illnesses has been hard. Pivoting from in-person to online and now back to in-person workshops again has been a challenge. I think I keep coming back to the fact that parents need support now more than ever. If I can help one family change their relationships, then it is all worth it.

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?

I think the pros are being able to set my own hours and choose when I work. This is so great with children and their school and sporting events. The flexibility it allows me is amazing. I love it. A con would be doing everything myself. I am starting to get in help now but initially when it was just me, there was a lot of admin and things to do. I am so grateful now to have some extra help with some of the behind the scenes stuff but still this is a constant thing to think about and I find it hard to switch off sometimes from all the things that need to be done.

Hopes and dreams: What next?

Oh great question. I am offering some more online courses. I have one coming up starting in August to support parents in their parenting journey. This course will be nine weeks where I will walk parents through starting to look at their own stories so that we can show up and meet our children in the ways they need us to. It will be a wonderful, supportive container for deep personal work. I am excited!
