Thank you to my handsÂ
for doing so muchÂ
you hold and foldÂ
and gently touchÂ
you carry and cleanÂ
and give high fivesÂ
you keep this family alive Â
Thank you to my breastsÂ
you have served me wellÂ
perky and pertÂ
then milk filled swellÂ
you fed my babiesÂ
magic juiceÂ
you somehow knewÂ
how to produce Â
Thank you to my soft, warm tummyÂ
you grew and roundedÂ
as i became mummyÂ
my babies started lifeÂ
in thereÂ
so a legacy Â
is only fairÂ
Thank you to my mouth and eyesÂ
and thank you to Â
my comfy thighsÂ
my lap providesÂ
the perfect nookÂ
for telling storiesÂ
from favourite booksÂ
Thank you to my heart and brainÂ
you mostly keep meÂ
fairly saneÂ
you help me read Â
and then reflect Â
you help me laugh,Â
and chat,Â
and connect Â
Thank you bodyÂ
for the strength you holdÂ
things are changing Â
and getting oldÂ
but i am gratefulÂ
to live in you Â
and i’m going to tryÂ
and nurture you, too. Â
