No is such an important part of our vocabulary and I have shown little role modelling for my son in the use of this tool. The “ability to say no” tool.
So my wake up call and health red flag has opened the door on this beautiful word. My son uses it and I have always respected it; now this cycle of parenting is about me demonstrating it. For when my child grows and steps out into the world more and more, I want him to have a very clear vision inside of him. That saying no is a vital word for self respect, self preservation and self love.
Self love means you say no when you are asked to do something that you don’t believe in. Love of others means you also say no on their behalf. And on behalf of this planet, where so many things need to be re-balanced, we also say no to the injustices.
Re-balance is needed, for myself and for many like me. Saying no is something to be proud of and now it is time for this word to be brought back to its rightful place in my life.
So today be proud of the rich vocabulary we have, and allow this word to given its rightful place.
Own our yes and own our no, herein lies balance for all.
Many blessings.
