Naturopath, mum and nature-loving adventurer Kristie Agnew, created Wild Medicine to share ways of living well that are easy and profoundly life changing even in their simplicity: through naturopathic consultations, hands-on workshops and digital resources. Whether you’re healing your gut or exploring conscious parenting, Kristie’s philosophy is all about weaving wellness into the everyday, in ways that feel real and deeply nourishing. Here she talks to The Natural Parent Magazine about the passion behind her business, her biggest breakthrough, and her hopes and dreams for the future.
The passion: What inspired you to set up your business?
Wild Medicine was born from a deep, lifelong pull to live in a way that feels true – to step outside a system that often mutes individuality and neglects real health. Too many people have handed over their wellbeing without question, disconnecting from their own capacity to heal. I’ve seen it time and again: the unquestioned authority of the doctor, the passive acceptance of poor health, the loss of personal power.
As a naturopath and mother, I’ve seen firsthand how disconnected our modern lives have become – from our food, from the earth, from each other, and even from ourselves.
I want to help others reconnect with their own innate wisdom.
Raising my children to be whole – mentally, physically, and emotionally – has shaped everything I do. I’ve witnessed the incredible impact of nourishing food, time in nature, (hiking, camping) deep connection, and freedom from societal conditioning.
My partner and I have created some magical adventures with the kids like living and travelling New Zealand in a house bus and living on a narrowboat travelling through the UK. I am so excited about adventure and inspiring others to live adventurously too.
Wild Medicine is my way of weaving together my love of nutrition, natural health, emotional wellbeing, and conscious parenting into something that can support and inspire others.
Through digital guides, eBooks, and in-person workshops, my hope is to empower families to thrive – starting from birth and continuing through every stage of life. I wanted to share this way of living with others – not just in a clinical setting, but through practical, accessible tools that families can use every day.

The launch: How did you start out in the beginning?
Wild Medicine began when we were living on a beautiful lifestyle block, surrounded by nature, animals and community. We had several other families living on the land in their own homes. Our hopes for this land were that we share food and skills while all living in our own spaces. On top of my naturopathic practice, we ran workshops that were such a joy, teaching traditional skills like fermenting, weaving garden structures, butchering, gardening as well as watercolour painting and Wim Hof cold therapy!
Although my formal training is in Naturopathy, I’ve come to see that true medicine is in how we live each day. It’s in the food we prepare, the way we move our bodies, the way we raise our children, and how we relate to the world around us. I believe that conscious, intentional living has a far greater impact on our wellbeing. It’s not what we do once a week that creates the magic, it’s the small consistent changes.
I created Wild Medicine as an umbrella for teaching about this way of life, a space to explore what it means to live “wild” in the truest sense. That means living in conscious resistance to what we’re sold through advertising, health systems, education and societal expectations. It means getting savvy with our food, our movement, our parenting, even our finances. It’s about coming back to what’s real, natural, and aligned.

The innovation: What was the biggest breakthrough for you with your business?
I have had a growing sense of clarity about what I’m here to offer and how I can be of real value to others.
Teaching fermenting and gut health workshops and my work at a herbal dispensary has shown me how deeply people crave knowledge, connection, and empowerment when it comes to their health. That’s helped me see that my work goes beyond just consultations. It’s about creating tools, resources, and spaces where people can feel supported in reclaiming their wellbeing.
I’m continuously expanding Wild Medicine through digital products – like eBooks and guides on topics such as healing teeth and gums, clearing skin, brain health, weight loss, colic, gut health, and conscious parenting. I love the idea of me becoming “Your Naturopath in your Pocket”. I love filtering through the latest research in natural medicine and bringing it to you in a useful clear way.
I’m still refining the “how”, but the “why” is rock solid: to serve families with integrity, wisdom, and practical support, while also creating sustainable income of my own.
Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?
I am still homeschooling my youngest, Fenn age nine. I want to use my knowledge to serve people in a way that gives enough flexibility to keep homeschooling for as long as my boys need me. To be honest, while I’m growing the business to its full potential, I haven’t hit the ideal balance yet. (Breathes deeply to keep the panic at bay). Watch this space I suppose. If I manage to make it work, I’ll teach that too!
