At Bella Cucina Collective, they are on a mission to deliver top-quality, beautiful kitchen items for the whole family. Born out of a love for cooking and baking, mum-of-three Emily Miller set out to curate a gorgeous range of baby foodware, kids’ lunch items, silicone bakeware, thermo containers for hot lunches on the go, and much more, all made from non-toxic BPA food grade silicone. Here she talks to The Natural Parent Magazine about the inspiration behind her business, her biggest breakthrough, how she balances work and family, and her hopes and dreams for the future.
The passion: What inspired you to set up your business?
I am a mum to three of my own kids and two step kids, so I’m ALWAYS in the kitchen! I love cooking, baking, and being adventurous when it comes to lunches. Bella Cucina Collective started from my love of all things kitchen – Bella Cucina means “beautiful kitchen” in Italian (a favourite cuisine of the whole family!).
The launch: How did you start out in the beginning?
We launched in March 2023 so we’re still pretty new! I carefully selected products I personally loved, created the website and Instagram page and went from there! Since launching, we have our online store, but also attend as many local markets as possible!
The innovation: What was the biggest breakthrough for you with your business?
Our biggest breakthrough was definitely selling in person! People can see and feel the amazing quality and that really helps!
Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?
I am used to being BUSY! If it isn’t cooking/cleaning up after everyone, it’s driving them around. We all play sports so our life is hectic. I guess for me, this little business is what I love doing – so I MAKE time for it!
