When Julia Moore-Pilbrow photographs her own family, she doesn’t want forced smiles, uncomfortable poses or formal clothes. She wants to capture all of the details of family life within a given moment – whether that be hanging out at home, the crazy morning chaos or quieter moments, or spending times outdoors together. She wants to remember the boundless energy, the things her kids love doing: the Minecraft obsession, Lego creations, the beloved bedraggled blankie that her son takes everywhere.
She wants to remember their facial expressions and what they look like as they go about their daily lives, pictures of them snuggling on the couch reading a book, making cookies together, going out for a walk. kicking a ball around the back yard. She wants to be able to gather up all these little details in images that she can look back on when she’s older and remember these special times in her life.
