Created by Midwives: Online Education for New & Expecting Parents

The drive: What challenges have you overcome?

A big challenge has been learning and understanding the world of social media and marketing – simply trying to get our brand out there has been a big learning curve for two midwives. It has however opened our world up incredibly, where we are now starting a podcast and making regular reels – not bad from two millennial mums.

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?

We absolutely love this type of work: best practice and evidence-based content that is totally woman centred. It’s our passion so honestly this journey has only been positive so far. We are great friends and working together on this project that we feel so strongly about has been really inspiring. We love being able to choose when we work, stay home with our little kids, and do all our ‘work’ from the couch (couldn’t ask for a better office!), so we created online learning where others could do it from the couch as well. Win-win.

Hopes and dreams: What next?

As we are a maternity unit manager and clinical midwife consultant with higher qualifications, we are using this strength to build a clinician-specific course for students, GPs, those returning to the workforce after a break, or those that simply want a refresher on their perinatal knowledge base. All best practices and evidence based of course – it’s referenced throughout. Watch out for that one! We are also in the process of creating a podcast series. It’s everything we as midwives, mothers and people who just love the art of people having babies would want to listen to. Each week we will catch up on the day-to-day highs and lows of parenthood and share birth stories and provide some really valuable, evidence-based research about any key topics that come up. We are so excited for this chapter of our journey together. Follow along on our socials if you want to bloom and pop along with us!
