Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and life?
It’s a never-ending journey and I definitely don’t always get it right! But I find that a few things really help. Firstly, knowing where I am in my menstrual cycle means that I have a greater understanding of where my energy levels, moods and ability to focus are likely to be and I can then nurture myself appropriately based on that. Secondly, mindset is key, so weaving in practices like gratitude journaling before bed and some movement or meditation in the morning are non-negotiables for me.
The drive: What challenges have you overcome both personally and as a business?
Personally, my biggest challenge has been believing in myself. I believe in Eve‘s mission and its potential to create important change, but I often struggle with self-belief and my ability to get us there. As the business grows, it invites me to step up and grow with it, which generally looks like me freaking out, then getting the job done anyway and feeling great!
As a business, we started talking about women’s health, hormones, sex, and periods at a time when these topics were pretty hushed. This space has come a long way in the short years we’ve been going, and it’s been an honour and a challenge to educate people along the way about their bodies, how they work and the fact that we don’t just have to accept feeling held back by our bodies or less than our best. But it’s incredible to see the wave of women who are starting to stand up and demand more.
Hopes and dreams: What next for Eve?
We’re on a mission to end the taboo around sex, stress and the menstrual cycle and supporting women to feel empowered in their bodies and realise that they deserve to feel great is a big part of this.
We hope to connect more with our community, and to keep helping people achieve amazing things for their wellness! From getting rid of hormonal acne, to conceiving after having fertility issues, having pain-free periods and regaining balance after having kids; it’s these stories our customers share with us that are the ‘why’ behind everything we do.
