The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
One of the biggest challenges I have faced at The Introspective Parent is getting the word out about our services and making sure that the right people are finding us. We are building a strong online presence and continue to network with other professionals in the parenting industry, receive word of mouth referrals and advertise in an attempt to reach as many reflective parents as we can! While these strategies have helped to overcome the challenge of getting the word out about our services, we are always looking for new and innovative ways to reach our target audience of reflective parents.
For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
One of the most surprising pros has been the need to develop new skills I never thought I would need; like building a website and sharing my values and thoughts with thousands of strangers! The pros are definitely the freedom I have in creating programs and resources which I 100% believe in and being able to share them with people. Running your own business provides a level of flexibility which can be important when caring for a family. The greatest benefit is the satisfaction of providing a valuable service and seeing the positive impact I’m making to people’s lives.
Of course, there are challenges too! Sometimes it can be hard to turn off and not be tempted to just get some work done in the middle of the night while everyone is asleep! There is a lot of juggling and a certain level of uncertainty involved in running your own business. All that said, I wouldn’t trade building The Introspective Parent for anything. It’s been an amazing journey so far and I am excited to see where it takes me in the future!
Hopes and dreams: What next?
My greatest hope is to continue to grow and expand the services and resources we offer to parents. I want to reach even more families and help them build stronger connections through the practice of reflective parenting. I am working on developing new programs and courses that will provide even more value to our families. In the long term, I hope to see The Introspective Parent become a household name – a go-to resource for parents everywhere who want to strengthen their family relationships through reflective parenting. Ultimately, my dream for The Introspective Parent is to make a positive impact on families everywhere and help parents build strong, loving connections with their children. It’s a big dream but I’m committed to working hard and making it a reality!
