The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
Re-training for 8 weeks, during a lockdown, with all 3 of my children home and just me parenting has been the biggest and boldest challenge I faced and overcame. I am very proud of this achievement because it was all self-driven and I showed my children that sometimes when things are hard, you do them anyway because afterwards, you feel so incredibly empowered and know that nothing is impossible after all.
For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
The pros are that I am my own boss, I dictate my hours, I dictate my hourly rates, and I get to do what I love and call it a job.
In terms of cons, it can be a lonely journey to start your own business. Financially, you do have to make the tough decisions to invest in yourself so you can really become financially independent.
Hopes and dreams: What next?
I want to be the coach that is aligned with maternal mental health; I want to be the go-to coach for all women, men, LGBTQ+ people in terms of their parenting journey and day-to-day coaching. I aim to also be a youth mentor for school leavers whereby they are able to start their adult journey being heard and seen and have all the tools required to go forth in their next journey.
