Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?
I don’t know – it’s required me to be regimented in my time management, and as a lot of entrepreneurial mums would say, we just make it work!
The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
The lack of queries during lockdown were challenging, and there were some custom bridal dressmaking tasks that didn’t work out- making a garment is one thing, but changing someone’s body type and self perception is a whole other bag of tricks!
For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
You do have more freedom with your family to a point, but there are also stresses, marketing, customer service, R and D, accounts… and that’s all one person’s responsibility when you’re starting out! Once the foundations are set though, you’re away laughing.
Hopes and dreams: What next?
I’d love to be able to have either a retail store or for the online business do well enough that I can have more freedom again for family time.
