The Challenges: What have you had to overcome?
Letting myself start before I felt ready.
I’m not a developer. I didn’t have funding or a perfect business plan. Most of what I know about tech I’ve learned from late-night Google searches and trial by fire.
But I knew the problem. I’d lived it. And that was enough to begin.
I also had to let go of looking polished from the outside. Grove is built in real time, by a real mum, living a very real life. Imperfectly. But with purpose.

The Joy & The Weight: What’s it like running your own business?
The best part? Freedom. Flexibility. And knowing we’re making a difference.
There’s nothing like getting a message from a mum who found her new favourite park, made a friend at a playgroup or got through a hard day, because of Grove.
The hardest part? It’s a lot to carry.
Running a business with little ones at your feet means you never fully switch off. The emotional load is real. But I keep coming back to the why. That makes it worth it.

What’s next for Grove?
We’re growing, and staying grounded while we do.
We’re expanding into new regions, adding new features to help mums plan their weeks and building partnerships with brands that actually get what mums need.
Long-term, I want Grove to be the app every new mum downloads. Not because it’s shiny or viral. But because it actually makes her life better.
