The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
We have been challenged in so many ways. Emotionally challenged: our patience and character and trust, for yourself, your families and business partners. The moral dilemma between working and parenting and sharing responsibility.
In a more literal sense, we have been challenged by making poor investment decisions for our business where we have lost money, which can be detrimental for a small business. We refer to these as lessons. We don’t judge ourselves because it is the resilience through these challenges that have helped create Bare Self today.
Overcoming these challenges and the new challenges that we will discover over time, we take with us the knowledge to take on a hurdle with ease.
For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
Some of the pros for us are that we all get to work together in a fun, supportive environment. We have built our business to be family friendly and to give ourselves the flexibility to have the life we desire. There is so much possibility for abundance in all aspects of life.
A con for us as a startup has been inconsistency in income. It can be challenging and very time consuming starting a brand from scratch, however we like to see that as personal growth rather than a con.
Hopes and dreams: What next?
There is a world of possibilities, and we are so excited to grow as a brand and create more! We would love to expand, adding new products to our range for women and perhaps taking Bare Self overseas eventually. We are always bouncing ideas of expansion with each other, always feeling enthusiasm for the future.
We have actioned some ideas, and new products are coming, but shhh, it’s still a secret so keep an eye out!
