Inspiring Families to Connect, Play & Explore in Nature

How do you balance work and family?

At the heart of it, we genuinely care about each other and our wellbeing. There are times when business talk takes a backseat – especially when one of us needs a friend, not a colleague. The beauty of having three of us is that it brings more flexibility in balancing both work and family life.

We like to think of our partnership like a tree: our roots are firmly planted in eight years of friendship, and we share a strong trunk built on a love for family and a passion for creative nature play. From there, we each follow our own branches. Rosie’s strength lies in design and making sure our offerings are perfectly pitched. Natalie brings boldness to spreading the word about Evergreen Exploring, and her critical thinking ensures our messaging is always clear. Emily’s talent for writing – whether it’s to-do lists, instructions, or social media posts – keeps us organised and on track.

The dynamic of working together – helping, supporting, and inspiring each other – makes the work-family balance not only manageable but also enjoyable!

What challenges have you overcome?

One of our first challenges was transitioning from in-person sessions to creating materials that parents could use at home. We wanted to maintain the same sense of connection, wonder, and joy that we’d fostered during our group play sessions. Then, we had to test those materials to ensure they worked just as well for parents as they did for their children.

Another major hurdle was getting the word out. We needed to make sure families knew we were here, offering something that’s not only enriching and fun but also good for their wellbeing, supports early development, and fosters a love for the natural world.

We’ve curated the best activities – those we’ve enjoyed ourselves and seen children love – into easy to follow, beautifully presented resources. We’ve always believed that everyone should have the chance to get outside and explore, and we genuinely love what we do. That’s why you’ll find us active on social media and sharing our journey with you.

Of course, time is always a challenge – what parent doesn’t face that?! But we’ve learned to make it work, because it’s all worth it when we see the impact of what we’re creating.

Hopes and dreams: What’s next?

As big dreamers, we’re aiming for the stars! Our vision is for Evergreen Exploring to become the go-to source for outdoor activities, trusted by parents for offering high quality, easy-to-use resources that make life simpler and more fulfilling. Every time someone purchases our resources, we do a little happy dance (literally!). The real joy comes from seeing your feedback and those pictures of the fun you’ve had with your little ones.

We’ve recently launched our Party Packs, designed to save you hours of planning and stress. Say goodbye to the hassle and high costs of children’s parties – our packs provide everything you need, from structure to materials, giving you the confidence to host an incredible event without the stress.

Looking ahead, we’ll be expanding with more seasonal and themed packs, including our Wild Advent Calendar, and we’re excited to introduce physical products like nature-inspired wall calendars and activity journals. We’ve got more ideas than we can fit into this year, so make sure to check back with us often to see what’s new!

At the heart of everything we do is our mission to connect families with nature through play and exploration. We know that when your little one spends time playing outside, they’re developing crucial skills like imagination, communication, motor skills, and more. And perhaps most importantly, fostering a love for the natural world that will stay with them as they grow. If you’re unsure where to start, we can guide you. If you’re already out there exploring, we’ve got even more ideas to inspire your next adventure.

We’d love for you to join our online community and to be part of your parenting journey. After all, that’s the beauty of nature play: there are always enough toys to go around.
