Let Your Heart & Mind Reconnect & Your Journey to Self Begin

The drive: What challenges have you overcome?

The personal challenges I have faced are becoming accomplished within my own right as a businesswoman and as a mindfulness coach, adapting to running and building a business as I have always been employed and for many years dedicated my life to saving lives: dedicated to service, to heal others. Now what I am learning is that I can use all my skills and abilities, using my knowledge and experience as a registered nurse, as a mother, and as someone who has overcome health problems.

I needed to, for the first time in my life, recognise my own worth and my own value, to acknowledge that my health is the most valuable, important factor. That without it I am not grounded, I am not able to function or play with my children. The benefits of mindfulness have literally had the most profound impact on my life physically, mentally and emotionally. I feel whole, I feel restored, I feel connected and renewed. I am able to be the best mummy I can be to my daughter and son. The best version of myself.

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?

It can be very difficult to know where to start. I invested in a business coach who was also for soul-led women. So it didn’t just encourage how to make money. It taught me how to share my story, my why, and to be authentic about who I am and who I am here to serve. My core values are faith, honesty, trust, family, freedom, connection and courage. And I live by these principles and ideals and want to attract clients who can resonate with me. It’s understanding that you are your first client. You have already lived through it, faced challenges and overcome them. My journey and how I got there is invaluable to help others who are struggling with the same feelings of overwhelm, burnout, fatigue and anxiety and share with them what I know to help improve their lives.

I have never stopped studying and learning and am currently studying more about breath work and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) tapping to help regulate our nervous system.

It is important to not put pressure on yourself. If you are not getting clients or making money, you have to remain consistent and disciplined in your practice to create that confidence and connection with others – to not be so hard on yourself, to not compare with others or follow what others are doing. It’s so important to be authentic and true to who you are – to have belief in yourself. It is not impossible to achieve your goals and dreams. To never give up on yourself. To have faith that everything will unfold just as it should.

Hopes and dreams: What next?

My hopes and dreams for the future are to start my own podcast, to run well-being mindfulness day retreats, to give a TED x talk, and to be a motivational speaker. To have more books on mindfulness living, for parents, for children, and for everyone. To continue my journey and studies to help heal people from the inside out and to be an advocate for mothers everywhere.
