Nurtured Roots: Connection & Healing for Your Whole Family

The Drive: What challenges have you overcome?

I have certainly overcome the steep learning curve of running a business – from the crazy amounts of admin to the legal side of trademarking the Nurtured Roots brand! But the biggest challenge has actually been managing the demand and knowing where I need to say no. There are so many families needing support, and I am only one person, and there are only limited sources of funding for so many. This challenge is exactly what drives me to create scalable resources – like my books and journals – so I can support families I might never meet in person. My commitment is to ensure that as we grow, the content remains rooted in the human, authentic reality of healing, rather than chasing a perceived ‘perfection’.

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?

The “con” is the weight of responsibility – holding space for other people’s trauma is heavy work, and without a team, you have to be diligent about your own self-care. However, the “pro” is the enormous gratitude I feel every day. I have the flexibility to be there for my own children while building a legacy that helps other families thrive. Knowing that my work is directly impacting the emotional health of the next generation is worth every challenge.

Hopes and dreams: What next?

I see Nurtured Roots growing from a local service into a holistic healing brand. While I continue my core in-person work (one-to-one sessions, TLSW and relational play sessions), my focus is shifting toward getting these tools into as many hands as possible. I am actively developing a series of books and journals for publication, and I am launching a YouTube resource library in January to guide parents through the journal’s content over 2026. I am excited to partner with the wider publishing world to share the message that we can heal and grow together.
