The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
Getting my name out there has been challenging and I’m still working on this. I think it all comes down to Covid – it meant that I had to launch purely online and compete with bigger businesses in this space, instead of being able to focus on the Canberra community. The benefit though is that I’ve had orders from all around Australia from beautiful women supporting small.
For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
It takes a lot of time to run a business and I miss out on some downtime with Matt. But I love what I’m doing and I’m proud of what I’ve created. I am so excited with every order that comes through – each one feels like the first! I feel really privileged to be invited into someone’s home. I know it can be a vulnerable feeling, particularly having a bra fitting. It brings me so much joy to talk to mums, find out what they need, help them feel comfortable and help them see how beautiful and wonderful their bodies are.
Hopes and dreams: What next?
My dream is to grow the business. I have so many things in the pipeline including gift baskets, rentals and clothing donations, and maybe even my own line of maternity wear. Watch this space!
