The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
There were many – firstly, navigating every area of the fallout of my own separation and supporting my children through the impact of the lockdowns. My children were not only experiencing the trauma of their own parents’ separation, but also the closure of their school. The ongoing difficulties of remote learning meant it was extra challenging and we gave up in the end. My eldest daughter developed some complex needs and expressed behaviour challenges; she needed more time readjusting once the schools went back. All of my family are in the UK so I had no family support, which was extremely challenging and emotionally distressing for all of us. It’s been a journey and in so many ways threw me in the deep end of my understanding into child emotional and mental wellbeing.
All these personal experiences somehow made me even more determined to learn more, enabling me to pivot every time something new was thrown my way. I tried so many different approaches using the methods I was already using and seeking advice from various child psychologists and other specialists in this field that were aligned with my approach, but nothing was shifting, which felt like forever. Diving deep into my daughter’s Human Design chart was the most successful realisation I had. This meant I had completely changed my approach to how I parented her (which was in accordance with her Human Design), then things started to flow and it felt easier to navigate every obstacle that was being presented. I kept having so many mini and major breakthroughs and it forced me to start re-parenting myself, giving me a whole new level and meaning to self-love and compassion.
When I think back to that time, I know it was a lesson sent to me and so even though I would say it was definitely a challenge, I have now been able to accept and understand the wisdom and the gifts in the lesson and be grateful in so many ways. It has made me a better mum, enhanced my intuitive gifts, developed my professional skills and expanded my business model in so many exciting new ways.
For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
The pros are having the ability to be consistently creative, from the conception of my brand logo and fonts to writing blogs, articles, working with graphic designers and selecting artwork that underpins the entire concept of Supernatural Coaching. Having the flexibility to work from anywhere in the world, go on weekend trips and still be able to log into my client’s dashboard, attend an sos Zoom call or pay a business invoice. Not being micromanaged! In fact, having unlimited potential and using my own self-inspired ideas to choose to act upon without being told “no” or “that’s not possible”.
The cons I guess are if you allow your ego and limiting beliefs to run the business you are passionate about, you will feel the full force of everything that goes with being your own boss and having to find money to pay bills. Our ego will tell us all sorts of stories and keep us playing small. These beliefs were present and very real for me in the early days, but as time went on, they have neutralised. I am now in a position where I have actualised my mission and purpose and keep moving towards my vision and many projects, which keeps me on my toes, spinning lots of plates and allows me to serve myself, my children and my clients in the highest potential.
There are other things, such as things not happening quickly enough or someone consulting that doesn’t deliver the outcome you expected – there are always cons; it’s just part of the process.
Hopes and dreams: What next?
My hope is that the digital product I have created and authored – The Human Design Professional Personalised Reading Report gets into in the hands of every parent on the planet. It has been the most transformational and helpful conscious parenting hacking tool I have come across, which is exactly why I have developed it into an accessible, easy-to-understand and affordable product. My dream is to impact as many families as possible in their quest for harmony and balance using this tool as a helpful guide, no matter where they are in their parenting experience.
My next big mission along running Supernatural Coaching is to raise funds for my newly founded charity – “The House of Wellbeing Ltd” – to help and support those families who have been impacted financially to gain access to funding for professional help and support for the wellbeing of their family in whatever capacity. The charity’s mission is the prevention of domestic violence and abuse and to promote family wellbeing education. Our aim is to specifically target government and large private organisations in digging deep into their pockets to help those families and children. It is a huge project to execute but I know from firsthand experience this is a much-needed service not only for my own community but every single family and especially children across the globe that were impacted by the pandemic lockdowns.
