As a mother of 3 children herself, Louise Rostock strongly believes that birthing women and their families should have the right to choose to benefit from all of the vitamins, minerals and nutrients their wonderful placenta has to offer. A fully certified, professionally trained Placenta Remedies Specialist, she wants women to feel supported, empowered and cared for when they choose her to provide their placenta remedy services, feeling truly honoured to play a small role in her clients’ birth story. Here she talks to The Natural Parent Magazine about the inspiration behind Mandala Placenta Encapsulation, the challenges she has overcome along the way, and her hopes and dreams for the future.
The passion: What inspired you to set up your business?
As I always seek alternative natural remedies to pharmaceutical drugs, and after pondering for several years, I decided to make the leap and follow my heart and passion for placenta encapsulation. Practising Kundalini yoga gave me the courage and confidence to follow my dreams. I heard about placenta encapsulation, but unfortunately wasn’t aware of it when my 3 children were born as they are 19, 17 and 10 years old, so supporting new mums and birthing parents for me is the next best thing.
The launch: How did you start out in the beginning?
Social media and networking have been the driving forces to generate clients and awareness for the business, along with consistency, persistence and perseverance. It’s so important to be present every day. Word of mouth is also a big factor, when clients want to recommend your services and tell everyone they know just how much they benefitted from their placenta encapsulation. I also have some amazing midwives that support me and want the best for their clients post-partum.
The innovation: What was the biggest breakthrough for you with your business?
Connecting with midwives both independent and homebirth and having them recommend placenta remedies and my services to their patients is amazing. Also winning the ‘Best Placenta Remedies Specialist’ for Central England by the Prestige Awards and ‘Placenta Remedies Expert for Leicestershire’ by the SME awards – having recognition for my hard work is so rewarding.
Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?
I manage to fit my admin in around school hours. However, you never know when you are going to get a call announcing a baby is starting their journey into the world! Luckily, I have a supportive husband and amazing daughter that help me with my youngest son. My Eldest son no longer helps out anymore as he’s moved to university.
