Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?
Always a tricky one, especially when working from home!
It’s really important to set realistic goals, whilst being honest with your clients. Allowing them to understand that anything created from the heart often takes time to evolve, but on a positive note, what they receive will be well worth the wait!
Scheduling in family time and pre-planning is a must.
The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
There are always going to be challenges, some of which are still a constant dream to achieve!
We are continuing to learn how to respect our own talent in this specialty industry, whilst trying to find the correct price point, without underselling ourselves or pricing our products too high for families to be able to afford our services.
Also, being self-sufficient where possible.
For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
The pros are working from home, being your own boss, working around the family and children’s activities, setting my own hours, working in my dream job, loving what I do and providing other families a memory of their own to love.
The cons are having an inconsistent income, being a perfectionist, the distractions that working from home can bring, finding the balance between work and family time and being time poor.
Hopes and dreams: What next?
Ideally, I would love our field of service to become a household name, so all new parents can experience their own treasured keepsake of their beautiful new arrival, whilst they are still teeny.
I would love to expand with a couple of like-minded and passionate staff to assist and help grow the business. I’d also like to teach other people, training them how to run their own little keepsake business.
