While younger children will enjoy singing along to the soundtracks of their favourite TV shows or movies, older children can be tasked with creating a playlist for your next road trip.
The more aspects of your daily life you can incorporate music into, the more musical memories you will be able to create.
Write songs together
Kids are natural composers and can turn just about any thought into a song. Chances are, your son or daughter have already made up numerous little songs while playing with their toys or running wild in the garden. Although not every child is going to grow up to be an award-winning lyricist, writing songs with them can help nurture their love of music. Your focus should not be on writing good songs, but rather writing songs that your children can identify with and that they will enjoy singing or humming along to.
Take turns deciding on topics for a song, and even try your hand at re-writing the lyrics to some popular songs.
Above all, have fun and enjoy these special moments with your child.
Instilling a love of music in your child is one of the greatest gifts you can bestow upon them. Music can not only boost cognitive development significantly, but it can also make a child happier and more relaxed.
