The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
Offering a personalised experience over an e-commerce platform has been both challenging and rewarding. The ability to personalise our products was an important feature we wanted to offer and was a much bigger and challenging project than we expected. Without going into all the details, we rebuilt the website so we could offer a seamless ordering experience that integrated with the backend logistics of engraving and delivery.
There’s so much happening behind the scenes to make this all possible. Going through this experience has deepened my appreciation as an online consumer to what happens when you order online. Seeing people personalise our drinkware with fun or meaningful engravings makes all the effort worthwhile.
For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
Running a family business brings both joy and challenges. We pride ourselves on offering quality customer service and enjoy directly talking with our community.
The ability to work from anywhere and prioritise family without having to seek “approval” is a big pro. On the flipside, the “shop” is always open which means as a team of two, so are we.
The learning curve has been a steep, exhilarating journey that we are travelling on together as a family.
Hopes and dreams: What next?
For us, quality is about more than materials; it’s about thoughtful design and long-lasting functionality. Each new product we introduce, whether a versatile glass water bottle or an insulated stainless steel water bottle, will be different to what is already on the market and meet our standards for quality and ease of use. Our goal is to create products that fit seamlessly into everyday life, supporting a conscious lifestyle through small, meaningful choices.
It is energising to see how far we have come from when Ever Vessel was simply an idea. We are proud of what we’ve built together and look forward to growing our community.
