The Drive: What challenges have you overcome?
A huge challenge for me was time management. When the girls were younger and at home, I had to be creative about how I used my time. I had set up a small table in the lounge room and I would put a movie on for the girls and I would paint doll faces of cut out toy patterns. I also used to have a lot of late nights sewing toys.
The other huge challenge has been doing all the online stuff myself. I have learnt so much in the building and maintaining our website. When I first started, I had no idea how to build or design a website. After much trial and error in creating different websites I now have one to be proud of.
For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
I love the flexibility of working when I want to. Sometimes it is hard to switch off, my brain is always thinking of new ideas. I found I have had to do a lot of planning of my week ahead of me. I also write down all ideas I have to make sure I don’t forget them.
Hopes and dreams: What next?
I have so many ideas of what I would like to do with Little Darlings Toys. I would love to see us continue to grow and expand our line of toys.
