- Learning through play.
It’s all fun and games with an au pair. But really, it’s the children learning through play. Au pairs from Au Pair Link teach the children through an ECE programme supported and guided by Au Pair Link’s qualified ECE teachers who are on-call for support and arrange monthly visits to check the progress and placement. With Au Pair Link’s ECE programme, children are exposed to different experiences through playgroups, child outings and events. Au Pair Link also provides a personalised resource kit every month to support your child’s current interests. Did you know Au Pair Link was recently reviewed by the Education Review Office (ERO) as “Very well placed”? This is the highest level of achievement and recognition for excellent education programmes and services. - You learn about another culture.
It’s a globalised world meaning it’s a great time to expose your children to different cultures and develop understanding and experiences. Most of our au pairs are from overseas and inviting them into your home means you and your family get to learn about a new culture and different customs. Au pairs quite often cook meals from their home country for their host families. What better way to learn about another culture than through your stomach! All in all, it will be a life changing experience for not only your children but for the whole family. - It’s a relief.
Another pair of hands around the house, another person to talk to, extra support, and an addition to the family; they’re all reasons why an au pair is so special and evolves into a necessity for busy parents. Many host families who start the programme feeling a bit sceptical come up to their third or fifth au pair and think, “How did I ever survive without one?” Maybe you also need a bit of relief in your day to day routine.
Au pairs from Au Pair Link are between the ages of 18-30 and mostly female. They have at least 200 hours of documented childcare experience (on average our au pairs have 1300 hours of documented childcare experience)! Our au pairs go through a rigorous screening process – including police and medical record checks, childcare and character references and a personal interview to assess their English speaking ability and suitability caring for young children.
