Hospital printed ultrasounds are of course extremely amazing and exciting – that powerful moment when you first see your wee nugget and hear their heartbeat! More and more often artists are turning to these fuzzy little pictures as inspiration for works of art – something that will last a lifetime and remind you always of that special moment. When she was pregnant, new mama Veselka Bulkan used her incredible talents and started embroidering her own baby’s ultrasound, to announce her pregnancy. Things have taken off since then.
“When I became pregnant at the beginning of the last year, I made an embroidery from my baby’s ultrasound at which I looked every day during this season of my life while imagining how she will look like, and a keepsake of these beautiful days as well,” she says on her website. “I also used this as a unique way to announce my pregnancy.”
Alongside her business embroidering root vegetables (how cool is that?!), Bulkan now also creates these ultrasound keepsakes as custom orders for clients, for which there is a waiting list. You can understand why!
