When she became a mum in 2016, Lynley Middlemiss fell head over heels in love with her daughter, but the relentlessness and exhaustion of caring for a newborn also took her by surprise. She turned to yoga to find support and a sense of inclusion, as well as a break from the mental overload of running her household. Whether she managed 10 minutes or an hour of yoga, it made those early mornings and sleepless nights manageable and, ultimately, made her a better person and a better mother.
Yoga helped her to stay strong, get toned, get fit and have a mental break from the pressures of day-to-day life and being a mum.
A specialist yoga teacher, Lynley is trained in all areas of a woman’s journey to motherhood, from fertility yoga and pre-natal yoga through to postnatal yoga, and all of her programmes are designed to be done at home at a convenient time, in the comfort of your own home.
Passionate about what she does, she wants to pass on the benefits of yoga to the women she teaches, and to help them find self-love and acceptance, whatever stage of life they are at. She especially wants women to know that they are not alone.
For women looking to embark on their pregnancy journey, fertility yoga can offer many benefits, including:
- Reducing stress and anxiety
- Learning breathing techniques
- Learning coping strategies
- Learning safe movements that promote optimal fertility
- Support and connection
Fertility yoga teaches calm, strength and relaxation, while relieving stress, and is a great way to form a support network of likeminded women.
