All-Natural 0% Cocktails: Clean Flavours Inspired by Nature

Finery

With the holiday season fast approaching, there is a delicious, healthy drink option on the market for breastfeeding mums, pregnant women, and those of us who want to keep a clear head. New Zealand brand Finery has released its delicious range of 0% cocktails that are free from alcohol, sugar, carbohydrates, gluten and preservatives. Naturally flavoured with aromatic botanicals that add complexity and depth, these uniquely subtle flavour combinations and all-natural ingredients make them a refreshing summer choice. Here, founder Jane Allan talks about the inspiration behind Finery and their business journey so far.

The passion: What inspired you to set up your business?

Keeping a cleaner lifestyle makes us feel great and gives us a lot more energy, something that we can be short on being a busy mother. My days of late nights and feeling terrible the next day had well and truly gone, but my love for a well thought out cocktail had not disappeared. Time though, was not on my side, so we set out to create a ready-to-consume cocktail for those of us that do enjoy a really nice drink without the side effects.

The launch: How did you start out in the beginning?

We started out with a pen, paper and a lot of questions at the inception stage, thanks to some very patient people in the industry that took the time to explain and help us along the way to get our product out and into the market last year. There were certainly a lot of highs and lows to make that happen.

Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?

To be honest, not that well, but it is in the forefront of my mind always. When we were launching our brand, we had help in the afternoons three days a week and that was fabulous. For the last six months, it has been late nights and early mornings working to have time with the boys before and after school, trying not to work between school finishing and bed time, and having my husband step in for pick ups when I need to be out of town in meetings or at events. The need is real though to re-introduce an extra set of hands during the week. It is such a positive investment and means when we do come home, we can just relax and enjoy important time with our children.
