She began the Love Your Postpartum project after a few local mothers communicated their interest in doing photo shoots, and it kind of took off from there.
“All of my work revolves around loving yourself and feeling beautiful,” Shannon told The Huffington Post. “Having a baby is a big step in life, that comes with a lot of changes. I want moms to never have to feel like their body isn’t beautiful as it once was. I want moms to embrace the changes their bodies went through to bring their babes into the world.”
“I hope it just helps these moms become at peace with themselves again,” Mikaela told us, “and find true love with their new bodies. I hope the project shows moms also that postpartum happens, but shouldn’t be feared. Your body will most likely change and that’s OK!”
